The purpose of the Berlin Brothersvalley School District Foundation is to develop, promote and finance educational programs, scholarships, activities and projects for the Berlin Brothersvalley School District.
What is the association between the Berlin Brothersvalley School District Foundation and the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies?
The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies serves as the administrator of the fund for the Berlin Brothersvalley School District Foundation.
What is the benefit of using the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies as the administrator of the fund?
The Berlin Brothersvalley School District Foundation recognizes a number of benefits from this association, including;
Minimal administration fees (.9% annually)

Will my donation be used for students in the Berlin Brothersvalley School District?
Yes, all donations made to the Berlin Brothersvalley School District Foundation will be directly applied to grants, projects and/or scholarships established by the BBSD Education Foundation.
Does my donation need to be made as a one time gift to the Foundation?No. Gifts may be made to the Foundation in a number of ways, including:
One-time gift
Multi-year pledge
Occasional gifts
Can my donation be earmarked for a certain grant, project and/or activity?
Yes. Donors may indicate at the time of their gift if they wish their gift to be directed toward a venture grant, scholarship project or special project.
Is my gift tax-deductible?Yes. Contributions made by both individuals and businesses to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
Through its affiliation with the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, the BBSD Foundation is approved by the PA Department of Community and Economic Development to participate in the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program. This program provides an incentive to businesses who contribute to education improvement organizations by providing tax credits in return for approved contributions. Up to 75% of the approved contribution can be recouped as a tax credit. For businesses making the same contribution for two successive years, the tax credit amount increases to 90%. These tax credits are applied directly to the business’ state tax liabilities.Will I be notified as to how my gift is used by the Foundation?
Yes. In addition to receiving notification that your gift has been received, the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies will prepare and disseminate an annual report detailing the organization’s activities for the school year.
