    1. Teacher Letters of Recommendation:

Ask 2 teachers who know you well to write a letter of recommendation. They should have taught you in a major course (English, Math, Science, Social Studies or World Language). To assist teachers in writing the letter, provide the teachers with the student resume from your Career Readiness Portfolio

    2. Apply to Colleges:

Generally, applications can be submitted either through the Common Application or through the admissions page of the schools website, while some schools give you the option to do either. Make sure you know how the schools you’re applying to want to receive applications, and make sure you submit prior to the deadline. For a complete list of Common Application Colleges, visit:

     http://www.commonapp.org/Login#!PublicPages/AllMembers

    3. Request Transcripts:

Request your transcripts at the High School Counseling (Guidance Office). The Guidance Office cannot send your transcripts to a college until you have submitted an official request with your signature.

    4. Pay for Transcripts:

There is no cost to the student for a transcript.  The counseling office does require a minimum of three (3) working days to process transcript requests. Please plan ahead and keep deadlines in mind.

    5. Send SAT or ACT scores:

Most schools require either an SAT or an ACT score as part of the application process. The Counseling (Guidance) Office does send these scores as part of student records but many schools do not consider them official until they come directly for the test company. In order to submit test scores, you must log onto the SAT or ACT website, and request the testing company to send your scores to the colleges to which you are applying. There is a fee for sending scores. Keep in mind that it will usually take about two weeks for the scores to be delivered. Scores must arrive before the deadline, so plan accordingly.

    Mid-year Transcripts:

Mid-year transcripts are sent to each school to which a student has applied. Once midyear grades are entered by teachers, Guidance will automatically send them to each school. There is no additional fee for this service, and you do not need to submit a request.

     End of year Transcripts:

End of year transcripts are sent to each school to which a student has applied throughout their senior year.  Once final grades are entered by teachers, Guidance will automatically send them to each school. There is no additional fee for this service, and you do not need to submit a request.
