Hi! Learning can be so exciting, and each day brings new opportunities. I believe in holding a positive mindset for life's lessons. Often, our best lessons are learned from our mistakes. We all learn in different ways. As an educator, it is the best challenge to incorporate different teaching strategies and math activities to provide the most influential learning experiences. Students have so much enthusiasm!
I grew up in Muskingum County, Ohio. I earned my undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University, a Bachelor of Science in Education, concentration in Middle School Mathematics and Language Arts. I completed my Masters in Education graduate program at California University of Pennsylvania in Elementary Education. I am a lifelong learner, obtaining four teaching certifications, and continuous professional development credit hours. I started as a substitute teacher before teaching full-time. In my career at BBSD, I have taught grades 2 and 4, and small groups in grades 3, 5, and 6. I am currently a sixth grade math teacher.
I love spending time with my family. I have three children, and a few furry pets - cats, a guinea pig, and a pet rabbit. We love adventuring outside in the creek, the woods, walking, and swimming. We spend a lot of time together indoors too, completing puzzles, painting, reading, 'MAKE'ing, and watching movies.
