Mrs. Kitty Meehan

"That is part of the beauty of literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you're not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong."

-- F.Scott Fitzgerald

Hello! My name is Mrs. Kitty Meehan. This year I will be teaching 9th grade honors English, 10th grade regular English, 10th grade honors English, public speaking, and Greek mythology. I love children of all ages, animals, literature, reading, and I truly love my job!

I am pretty unique in that I have taught in all three schools and have taught Kindergarten through 12th graders because of having both 7-12 English and K-12 library certifications. I started my career as a high school English teacher here at Berlin; after few years I began working on my Master’s Degree in School Library and Information Science and moved into the high school library. A couple of years later I found myself as the elementary librarian, where I stayed until I was able to move back up to a high school English classroom - where I couldn't be happier!

As far as the hub/library goes, I love to discuss the latest great book you or I have read.  Stop in anytime to chat about books, give or get recommendations, or to let me know if there's a book you would like the library to acquire.

A little about me: I have lived in Somerset all my life; I absolutely love all four seasons and the varied weather they bring. I have two grown daughters and two wonderful sons-in-law.  I discovered a whole new depth of joy when I became "Mimi" and met my grandson, Vinny. Then, two years later, I was blessed with a grandaughter, Vinny's little sister - Genevieve (Vivi). Oh, what joy yhey are! My husband and I share our home with some wonderful kitty cats, and I enjoy reading (duh!), working with stained glass, sewing, cooking, board games, both the beach and the desert, and most of all - crazy, chaotic family time!
