Mr. Jim Eutsey

I was hired at Berlin Brothersvalley High School in the summer of 1991 after teaching two years at Portsmouth Christian Schools in Portsmouth, VA.

I was born and raised in Bullskin Township in Fayette County.  I grew up in a great home where I excelled in school as well as athletics.  I am a graduate of Connellsville Area High School (go Falcon's) and a proud graduate of Cedarville University.  I met my wonderful wife at Cedarville.  We have three children. Nicole Chonko (married to Davey) is an elementary teacher in the Somerset School District.   Our daughter Jorden is a Physician's Assistant at the Orthopedic Group in Pittsburgh.  Our son Ryan has a youth ministry called Spark, works at Tableland and has his federal drone license.  I currently teach academic physics, honors algebra 2, algebra 2, principles of technology 1 & 2, and geometry.  I coached varsity baseball for many years both as an assistant and head coach.  I also coached junior high boys basketball for a few years and was the head golf coach for four years.  We also have one grandson, Hudson James Chonko.

Why did I decide to become a teacher?  My goal is to make a difference in the lives of the students I come in contact with everyday.  I want to be a positive role model and do my best to help each student become a positive, hard working member of society.  I value strong character, determination, patriotism , a strong work ethic and self discipline.

When I am not working at the school I enjoy archery and spring gobbler hunting, working out, doing construction work, and relaxing with my family.  I have been on several mission trips the past several years.  I also am a deacon and small group leader at my church and help my son with his ministry.
